The Hero*s Journey; 9th – 15th November 2026, Coed Hills near Cardiff (Wales).

What is the Hero*s Journey?

The epic 6-day residential workshop “The Hero’s Journey”, developed by Paul Rebillot, is a unique opportunity to dive deep into your own personal inner story – to feel who you are when you stop battling yourself and can harness your life force in service of your heart’s true longing. You will come face to face with your own inner hero*ine (the part of you that knows what you truly long for) and your own inner saboteur or ‘demon’ – the part of you that holds you back in 1001 ways. By the way, just in case you’re put off by the perhaps macho-sounding word ‘Hero’ – this work is for courageous people of all genders, where a hero*ine is very much a person who is heart-led.

Why do this workshop?

I will lay my hand on my heart and say that for me, the Hero’s Journey was probably the best week of my life. The deepest. The most joyful. The most magical. The most life-changing. I can still remember almost every detail of it, because it’s etched into my being. I wasn’t sure what I was letting myself in for at the beginning, having gone on a real whim; but by the end (or probably more like the second day) I knew there was nowhere I belonged more. It was like putting a kaleidoscope to my heart. An initiation.

I’m still unable to fully express why I love this work so much. Perhaps it’s the richness of the work, the way that so many different modalities and playful challenges are woven together – but in a way that has such cunning choreography, gently guiding you all the way through, deeper and deeper into connection with yourself, the other human beings on the journey, and life itself. Guiding people on this journey is honestly a dream come true – it feels like being a midwife for magic, depth and wonder.

Meet WISE FOOLS

This workshop is facilitated by myself and my friend and colleague Sven Werner – together, we are the founders and directors of WISE FOOLS, a social enterprise with the mission to make the Hero’s Journey and other Paul Rebillot workshops accessible to as wide an audience as possible. Having both trained and worked with Irgendwie Anders in Germany, who offer this work on a donations basis, we brewed up the dream of offering this work in the WISE Isles (Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England) where we both live, and our first Hero’s Journey took place in December 2024, in Wales.

At the core of WISE FOOLS’ ethos is the belief that this experience is of huge value to people regardless of their background or current financial situation; we know that being able to engage in this kind of work is already a privilege, but we want to make it as accessible as we possibly can, while still financially sustainable. This is why WISE FOOLS is (becoming) a C.I.C., and why we run entirely within the gift economy – the workshop itself is gifted to you by participants of the previous workshop, and at the end of the workshop, you in turn have the opportunity (without pressure or obligation) to donate to support others to take part in this work in the future if you are willing and able.

We do have to charge for accommodation and food, though if we find a way to fund-raise this in the future, we’d love to cut down these costs too. The price for basic accommodation is £295 (subsidised rate), £395 for standard accommodation, or £495 for single accommodation.
